Julie to hold Public Meeting on Burma
Julie will hold a public meeting tomorrow to celebrate the courage of Aung San Suu Kyi, the democratically-elected leader of Burma held under house arrest since 2003. The meeting will also highlight human rights abuses, as part of an international effort organised by the Burma Campaign UK to draw attention to the plight of millions of Burmese people .
Despite a UN panel finding that she was being detained in violation of international law, Suu Kyi remains under house arrest and spent her 4000th day under house arrest in October 2006.
The meeting will take place from 2pm to 4pm at Beulah Church Centre in Rhiwbina and will feature readings from Richard Shannon's play "The Lady of Burma", short speeches and exhibitions. Light refreshments will also be available. For further information, please contact Julie's office on 029 20 624 166.
Julie looks forward to meeting you tomorrow.

Dear Julie Morgan,
Please accept my heartiest best wishes for organizing a very relevant meeting for the release of Asia's Symbol of Democracy - Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. I hope, you would continue your voice of support to Daw Suu Kyi in Parliament and serve best the people of Cardiff North. I feel that people of Cardiff North should also feel proud of you as a Parliamentarian.
Once again wishing you a great success for your programme on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi,
Rajshekhar

The comment above by 'Van' seems to be a somewhat poor perception of what it is that Julie and her team do in their daily work - they are all committed to doing good work and resolving both individual and community problems, whatever they relate to, within Julie's constituency.
It's also right that an MP, being in a position of power, brings to the attention of his or her constituents the terrible human rights abuses, environmental abuses etc. that are taking place in the world. However, I certainly wouldn't ever consider Julie to be doing so at the expense of dealing with and addressing the myriad of problems that her constituents are facing, and such an opinion is, I have to say, severely mistaken.
